Cronus, the Titan king of heaven and the god of time married Rhea, both children of the sky god, Uranus. Together they had six children including Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Demeter, and Hera. He was told by Gaia, the goddess of Earth, and Uranus that he would be overthrown by one of his children. In 700 B.C. in a cave in Crete Zeus was born. Cronus had tried to swallow him, but Rhea had managed to trick him by giving him a rock in clothes.
Zeus had 3 sisters-Demeter, Hestia, and Hera. Demeter is the goddess of fertility, grain, and agriculture. She was born in the universe and placed on Earth after it was made. Hestia is the goddess of berth, and humble domestic joy. She was the first-born daughter. Hera is the queen of the Greek gods and the wife of Zeus. She was born before people existed on the island of Samos.
Zeus had 2 brothers-Poseidon is the god of sea. He is one of the twelve Olympian beities of the pantheon. He was swallowed by Cronus at birth but saved by Zeus later. He was born in Mantinea. Hades is the lord of the underworld and ruler of the dead. He's the oldest of all the children. He was born in the Golden Age on the island Crete. He was also swallowed at birth, and later saved by Zeus.
Zeus had a desire for Metis, a Titan goddess. He was told that Metis's first child would be a girl and her second would be a boy. Like his father he was told her second child would overthrow him. In fear of that happening he swallowed her while she was pregnant. Months later, Prometheus, a Titan god, had struck Zeus's head with an axe. Then, sprang out Athena, the goddess of the city, human production, and agriculture who was full grown and covered in armor.
Uranus had a habit of imprisoning his children. When the Titan Cronus decided to help his mother, Gaia, by overthrowing his father, Uranus, the Cyclops helped. Instead of rewarding them, Cronus imprisoned the 3 one eyed immortal giants. During the war against Zeus and his father, Cronus, the Cyclops had helped him. After he overthrew his father with their help he set them free. They rewarded him with a lightning bolt
Zeus married Hera. She is the goddess of marriage, the queen of Olympians, and his sister. During the winter Zeus had turned himself into a bird. Hera felt bad for it and tried to warm it. Catching her off guard Zeus changed back into himself. Unable to fight hi off he raped her. To cover her shame she married him.
Zeus flooded the Earth. It was called the Great Deluge. Humans were very wicked and horrible and this angered him. As a result, he flooded the Earth.
Sarah's Zeus Writing
I am the god of all gods, Zeus, sitting on Mt. Olympus watching as Odysseus struggles through his adventures. Twenty years gone and back again, He reunites with his son, Telemachus. They make a plan to defeat the suitors in a battle, but only with the help of my daughter, Athena and I. Athena has tremendously helped Odysseus throughout his journey. I can see why by his bravery and intelligence. Odysseus and Telemachus prepare a plan to kill the suitors and regain control of Ithaca. Odysseus arrives at the palace disguised as a beggar, by Athena. He is insulted and abused by the suitors. Penelope suspects that the beggar might be her long-lost husband Odysseus. She arranges an archery contest, promising to marry any man who can string Odysseus’s bow and fire an arrow through a line of twelve axes, which only Odysseus has ever been able to do. During the contest each suitor attempts it, but fails. The beggar fires an arrow through all twelve axes. He then turns the bow on the suitors. Assisted by servants, Telemachus and his father kill every single suitor. Odysseus reveals himself to the entire palace and reunites with his wife Penelope. They come under attack from the family members of the dead suitors, but Laertes, successfully kills Antinous’s father and stops the attack.
The title of the page is Zeus. He is the god of all god's of the universe, so I used the flashing purple sparkle glitter text to resemble the universe. To match the glitter text headline I used the color purple.
